What does success look like for me?
Most people inherit their definition of success without ever choosing it.
Revenue. Visibility. Headcount. Exit. Recognition.
But what if success isn’t scale - it’s alignment?
Your work is going to take time, energy, and attention.
You might as well point it toward something that aligns with you.
Exercise:
Grab a notebook. Set a timer for 12 minutes.
Write “For me, success looks like…” at the top of the page.
Then keep going. Let it get weird, emotional, specific.
If you get stuck, try finishing these:
– I’ll know it’s working when…
– I want to feel more…
– It’s not worth it if…
– I don’t want to build a version of success that looks like…
Bonus: Come back tomorrow and cross out anything that doesn't feel aligned anymore.
